Baby boy born to Mexican actors Luna, Sodi

MEXICO CITY �

Mexican actors Diego Luna and Camila Sodi are first-time parents to a child boy.

A voice for Canana Films, Luna's production caller, confirmed the birth on Tuesday. A publicist for Luna in Los Angeles, where the baby was reportedly born, did not immediately return telephone messages.

Luna and Sodi, who marital in February, met piece filming "The Night Buffalo," an version of the novel by Guillermo Arriaga ("21 grams" and "Babel").

Luna, 28, has also appeared in "Amores perros", "Frida", "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights" and "The Terminal". Sodi, 21, has acted in "Ninas mal" and "Deficit," the first movie directed by Mexican star Gael Garcia Bernal, cofounder of Canana Films.

Donda West Surgeon Arrested For Suspected Dui

The surgeon who operated on KANYE WEST's mother a day before she died has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Dr. Jan Adams was arrested by police in California early on Thursday morning (26Jun08).
According to California Highway Patrol reports, he was driving his grey Jaguar car the wrong way up a freeway off ramp. He failed a sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license, according to TMZ.com.
The website also reports that Adams' medical license expired at midnight on Wednesday (25Jun08), rendering him not "allowed to practice medicine in California".
Adams was cleared of wrongdoing in the death of Donda West last year (07).

Why Did Universal's Film Vault Burn Down?

Universal Studios Chairman Ron Meyer has taken issue with news reports claiming that the studio's water system was inadequate to battle the fire that, among other things, destroyed a vault containing tapes of thousands of the company's television shows and hundreds of classic film prints. In a message to company employees that Nikki Finke posted on her Dateline Hollywood Today website, Meyer said that it was "not the case" that the water system was inadequate. "In fact, at a recent press conference organized by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Chief Michael Freeman stated unequivocally that Universal had sufficient water capacity to handle the fire." However, news reports of Freeman's assessment noted that the fire chief had added that despite the sufficient water capacity, the studio's own system of water lines running through the movie-set rafters decreased water pressure and resulted in additional water loss when some of the lines snapped when the rafters collapsed during the fire.

Hepburn's former husband Ferrer dies, 90

Actor Mel Ferrer, the onetime husband of Audrey Hepburn has died, surrounded by family and friends in his Californian ranch. He was 90.
Ferrer co-starred with Hepburn in 'War and Peace', directed her in 'Green Mansions' and produced her in 'Wait Until Dark.
He made his big-screen acting debut in the drama 'Lost Boundaries' playing a fair-skinned black doctor passing as white.
Speaking to Reuters, Ferrer's son Mark recalled that the role: "...had a huge impact on him and his commitment to civil rights."
Ferrer and Hepburn married in 1954 and appeared together that year in the Broadway production of 'Ondine', for which she won a Tony as best actress just weeks after receiving her Academy Award for 'Roman Holiday'.
The couple had a son together, Sean and Ferrer had five other children from other marriages.
Although he appeared in over 100 films, Ferrer viewed himself less as a screen actor than as a creative talent behind the camera, his son told Reuters.
